Our revolutionary teeth whitening treatment takes place in a relaxing environment. We strive to create an enjoyable experience for our clientele, our patented MP3 headset lasers allow clients to listen to the music of their choice and even have a massage while their teeth are whitened by our fully trained dental professionals. We use the very latest in teeth whitening technology, our MP3 headsets are not restrictive - as with most fixed lasers - offering far greater freedom of movement and comfort. Our large reclining comfortable chairs, back massagers and choice of music are administered by dental professionals and bring professional teeth whitening into the 21st century.

Our consultation forms are created by dentists. The consultation process ensures that each person meets the treatment requirements. Clients who meet the requirements will then have a full consultation with our on-site dental professional. Who will explain the process and the results that can be expected. Clients who do not meet the requirements will not be treated and will be offered a full refund on any gift certificate or payment they have made.

Once the preferences for back massage and music are established, your technician will conduct a shade analysis on the teeth. A gum dam is applied to the exposed tissue area in the mouth, this is followed by a patented tooth cleaning solution, exclusive to Smile Lounge, as a pre-treatment. This product not only cleans the teeth but also hydrates the teeth reducing side effects such as sensitivity and improving results of teeth whitening.

The next process uses a whitening gel to remove stains. Once applied, the customer is then given their headset LED light, for the first 15 minute session. The gel is activated by the specially designed LED light. This procedure is repeated three times. The whole process takes one hour to complete. At the end of the procedure teeth are shaded again to prove the teeth- whitening results. Aftercare instructions and advice about maintaining you new white smile are the final stage.

When people want to come and have a treatment without having booked an appointment our procedure is as follows;

1. Our on site Dentist will go through the consultation form – make sure all contact details are there, and ensure the client reads the waiver form before signing. If any contra-indications are found they will ask for a doctor/dentists referral.
2. If the client is fit for treatment, the technician will carry out a shade analysis – we check front teeth and side/bottom teeth as these shades are usually darker. Shades are noted on the consultation forms and are agreed by the client.
3. Teeth whitening treatment can then begin – the client is made comfortable in one of our large reclining chairs and offered a choice of (back massage at some sites) and music if you wish to plug your own music in from an i-pod or phone that is not a problem – our headsets work with most i-pods and mobile phones.
4. A gum dam is applied to protect the gums
5. We carry out 3 or 4 x 15 minute sessions to get the most optimum results. This is done using our LED headset light and a whitening gel.
   
   The client is cleaned up and gels are re-applied as the treatment progresses.
6. Once the treatment is completed carry out shade analysis again (in the same place as before) – they mark down the results on the consultation form.
7. Aftercare instructions are given to all clients and they are made aware of products available for purchase, like our home whitening kits and Powerswabs. These will help to improve and prolong whitening results.

After your teeth whitening treatment, please follow a few guidelines to help maintain the look of your new smile. Everyone's teeth have a protective layer called the protein pellicle. This layer contains the surface dental stains and is removed during our treatments. It takes twelve to twenty-four hours for the barrier to fully develop again. During this period we ask you to avoid certain items such as coffee or tea

For the first three hours following your whitening treatment clients are advised to avoid all foods and drink only water. For 48 hours clients should refrain from eating or drinking anything that is rich in colour or may cause stains, such as: coffee, tea, rich sauces or tobacco. It is also advisable to avoid very hot or very cold drinks during this period. After 48 hours a natural barrier will form over the teeth and you can return to your normal eating and drinking patterns. If aftercare instructions are adhered to, the whitening effects can last anything from 6 to 18 months – dependant on the client’s lifestyle. We offer advice and help for people who wish to give up smoking. All aftercare instructions will be fully explained during the consultation period.

Drink:milk, water, clear soda
Fruit: bananas, apples, no peel
Bread: white bread, flour tortillas
Oats: oatmeal, cream of wheat
Dairy: plain yogurt, white cheese, sour cream, cottage cheese
Grains: white rice, baked potato
Pasta: plain pasta and white sauce
Meat: turkey, chicken breast (no skin)
Other: Clam chowder

A list of items we recommend you avoid for the next 24 hours:
Red Wine, Dark Colas, Coffee or Tea, Red Sauces, Mustard or Ketchup, Soy sauce, A-1 sauce, Smoking, Lipstick
Or anything that would stain a white shirt.

We offer a take home teeth whitening kit to provide longer lasting results to our clients. The Smile Lounge LED teeth whitening system offers immediate results, but upkeep is recommended to prolong the effects – people who smoke heavily and drink a lot of tea, coffee and red wine will stain more quickly and have to have top up treatments after 6 -12 months to maintain the whiteness of their teeth.
